My Little Sophie

I just had to log on and tell you about my little one Sophie.

My granddad Teri was asleep in the living room, on the couch, mouth wide open snoring like crazy. Well, she took the liberty of shoving her binky into his mouth…LOL…that’s not the funny part. The funny part was the fact that he didn’t wake up, he began to suck on the thing. Soph giggled and plopped down on her little bottom. I stood there in the door and waited for granddad to wake up and laugh or something but no, he actually turned over and continued to hold the think in his mouth. I whispered for Anduele to come and see and she laughed so that she began to cry. Soph worked herself up and began to hunt for her binky around his head but when she discovered that he still had it in his mouth she slapped him across the head and yelled “Gwampa Gimmie nah!” He jumped up he then realized that he was sucking on a piece of plastic and you could see Soph’s handprint against his left eye. She stood there with her head of light brown curls and smiled with her eight teeth brighter than light and giggle like carazy. He then saw us laughing at him and he jerked the thing out and handed it back to Soph. Soph shoved it into her mouth and her little Nikes clapped back toward the door and wobbled past us back down to the kitchen to Aunt Yalayah…

Granddad swore he knew he had it in his mouth, but we knew the truth. Oh, and did I mention we have pics? He’s mad about that but soon laughed. It is now a screen saved on the family computer. He tried to delete it but I have it saved under my name.

Just had to share. These are moments I have to capture. She's getting so big and so smart it scares me sometime. She has a strange bond with Karah that seems to sooth my cousin after she transitions back. Karah says Soph is her healer. That Soph calms the storm within her. I think its because Soph is innocent and is not subjected to negativity and bullshit. Can I say that? I just did. She is my joy and so I just wanted to share that little laugh with you guys.

PS. Jordyn, I hope your're logging on and reading these. Love you honey and be safe in Chile.
XOXO

It's a New Year!

Happy 2010! I had blast celebrating the new year with family and friends, I just wished that Jordyn was here with us. He would have loved to have seen Sophie with a sparkler. LOL...that was till she tried to stick the blasted thing in her mouth. I'll get those idiots tomorrow. DEE and ASH!.. I think the fact that we were all together was nice and Karah seemed more alive this year due to the fact that Denille was here with her. She had someone to hold onto when 12 hit! I am happy that all my family is healthy and happy. I want to- Oops there's Jordyn ringing me now, I have to take this so I'll see you all another day but right now I have to talk to my hun. *laughs*

Uhhh, Hi? This is my first blog...whew!

Let me introduce myself, I am Grace Avayah-Symonds. Karah is my cousin and one of my best friends. I decided to move here with Grandma Anduele when I was younger. I think I was around 8 or 9, I can't really remember. I too attended Lake City High School of Lake City SC and I graduated with honors.

I matriculated to Yale majoring in Biology and furthered my studies to become a doctor. I met my husband, Jordyn Symonds on a Spring Break trip to Australia. He is from there but all the while attending Harvard and also a Pre-Med student.
And despite his parents' objections to our marriage (racial), we were married in 2006 and not too long down the road Sophie was born. Sophie Avayah-Symonds or Soph she likes to be called was born July 24th 2008. his parents are coming around now because of her. They never really disliked me but they said they know how cruel people can be and how they still don't really accept change. Jordyn didnt care he loves me no matter what, and I him. Jordyn is not a regular doctor, he, along with three of his collegues are behind finding medical breakthroughs which has him flying around the world. Thus Soph and I dont stay in our home, but with Aunt Crystal at the family home. Jordyn feels bad about leaving everytime he comes home because Soph is getting smarter by the day.

I work as a Surgical Consultant, recommending surgeries or explaining the risks of a procedure to the surgeon and the family of the patient. I take much pride in what I do. Having a family that is not normal in any sense of the word is very amzing to me. I think that some of that awesomeness had rubbed off on my daughter.
Sometimes I worry about Anduele and Karah. They have so much going on that they dont have time for themselves. Well, maybe Anduele, but Karah won't slow down and pay attention to the clouds. I think she feels that she has to be that way so the ones around her wont get hurt.

I'll be on from time-to-time letting you know about Sophie's antics and how my cousin's coping with her teenage life. She recently got a lovely gift from Grandpa Teri, a beautiful Bentley GT. Denille was asked by grandpa if he knew what type of car she wanted and just so happens- (hold)

Okay back now, Sophie just threw her sippie cup out of her playpen. Where was I? Oh, oh yeah, Just so happens he knew that she was in love with this make of car. Makes my little Merc G Wagon look like a beat down Toyota..LOL...She deserves it though, the girl is always thinking of everyone else and she is always home whether it's playing with Soph or dodging our very drunken Aunts and their jokes. They'll be on here later I'm sure of it. And if you have trouble reading their blogs from time-to-time, you know why. They've been in the Merlot or what ever wine is in the wine chiller...HAHAHA

Oh, I have to go now. Sophie is crying and I can't bare to see tears run down my lovely's face.

Peace Always
